ARTIST'S NOTES
Before I started reading WIZARD magazine, I used to think that the covers were drawn by fans. Only later did I find that the covers were actually drawn by industry professionals. In my arrogance, i said to myself that I could draw a pic better than many of the ones I had seen and thought I'd enter the nonexistent competition.

I drew this iceman based on Whilce Portacio's version with the rings of ice around his arms. Probably the best iceman design to date. I also incorporated the alternate universe Iceman feature of no mouth since I thought it made more sense for an iceman to not be able to move his mouth or have a shielding for battle.

This is still a work in progress even though I have a colored version, I was never happy with the hands. Not to mention I lost the colored PSD original file. The drawing is over 7 years old to date and marked my first known use of Photoshop. This pic utilized no layers, something I think would be unheard of for me today.
