1. Sketching the original image and scan
This is the original scan of the pencil drawing on an 8.5x11 sheet of paper I drew while at work in Monterrey for McGrawhill. The job I had at the time left me with a lot of free time so this was one of the results. |

2. Adjusting the levels for line definition
Editing the scan in Photoshop to be colored was simply a matter of adjusting the levels of the lines. The sliders allow you to adjust any pencilled image to a degree where it looks inked. |
|
|
3. Solidifying lines and background
The black background is added to set boundries and to act as an overlay for the digital painting. In order to use the paint bucket appropriately, you have to be sure you close off all lines and make them close or you'll get bleeding |

|
4. Painting Layers
The colors you see her were laid out under the primary screen and boundaries were set using the wand and lasso tool. In reality, there are multiple Photoshop layers here, but you can see how loosely the image was painted by this frame.
Kudos to Fred. Learned most of this stuff from him. |

5. Final image and glows
The final image is completed by adding glow effects to different parts of the image.
