ARTIST'S NOTES
This may have been the beginning of my renewed desire to draw. For a long time before this picture I was sketching, but none of the pictures I drew was truly satisfying to me. Reading Maduriera's X-Men made me reconsider my drawing and opt for a new style that used less lines.
Prior to Maduriera and Campbell, the popular style in comics was the Lee/Williams style of hatching. I found that drawing that way made it too easy for me to disregard proportion and detail by crowding my drawings with hatches.
I was very proud of this drawing, but unfortunately, dropped a Chow Fun Noodle on it while finishing it off, so the original has a fat stain on it. Afterwards, I went back and fixed the face since the eyes had always looked too high and small on the original pictured below.
