ABOUT CMAX
CMAX is an interesting site I stumbled upon. Apparently, CMAX (Character Monthly Artist eXchange Board) is a place where people go to basically exchange gift art. From the CMAX page located at http://www.glomp.net/cmax/rules.htm

"In short, the objective of CMAX is to provide a monthly event for web-savvy artist to produce gift art for each other. This proceeds as follows:

  • Artists may sign up for CMAX in the first 3 weeks of each month previous to the CMAX they wish to participate in.
  • All signed-up entrants details are collated by CMAX administrators.
  • Each artist is then assigned to draw gift art for a randomly determined recipient artist, drawing from that recipient's own original characters.
  • All entrants are given a month to produce their submissions.
  • On or any time before the month's end, the submissions are to be posted in the Submissions Forum.
  • And the monthly cycle begins anew...

Note that before the final gift art is submitted by an artist, their recipient does not know who is drawing art for them, or even which character they are drawing - this adds a degreee of (hopefully pleasant) suprise to the proceedings. However submissions may be posted in the Submission Forum at any time."

I love this concept. When I was young I used to take the drawings of friends who would come up with the concept of a chracter, and I in turn would "do it up" in my own style. This takes me right back there as well as gives me the opportunity to practice interpretation of existing art.

If I'm doing a piece for you, please forgive me if I hack your chracter, and if you're doing a piece for me, enjoy yourself!
